I teach both reading and math to my 21 month old son.  I started with reading early this year and after it was fairly stable, I added in the math last month. My son was also quickly bored with the dot cards so I acquired LM. While it makes my life A LOT easier, I'm not sure that my son is really into the math lately.

Thankfully LM allows for different icons (balls, ducks, etc) so that keeps him more interested.  It's a bit of two steps forward, one step back sometimes with either program. I'm confident that we're making progress each week - sometimes by faith alone, but that's ok!

My DS (7 months and 8 days) did it!

Two days ago, we tested our son to see if he could recognize numbers (dots) and... he could! He was always interested in the dot cards (more than EK and reading). However, yesterday we asked him to identify words and ...he could! he could also identify colors! He was 100% correct. I am really happy

The words I showed him were shown to him in the beginning (one and a half months ago) and I had stopped doing them since he would look away every time...but apparently, that wasn't the case, because he remembers all of them!

We tried to record this session using the remote (so that he would'nt see the camera), however, as luck would have it, it did not get recorded properly.

Anyhow, I am really thankful to everyone on this forum....your posts helped me teach my son....and a BIG thanks to KL for coming up with such a wonderful software. I totally enjoy teaching my son...however, not more than he enjoys learning! Babies are indeed geniuses!

I can't believe it.  My boy was actually laughing while watching LM equations.  He usually just tolerates LM or any kind of math (we have dot cards, too).  We've done the dots to 100 (although I don't test him, so I have no idea what he has learned).  We've also done +, -, x, and division.  I was just reviewing some addition and subtraction equations using LM.  I had turned off the sound and was running the program on auto forward at 0.4 seconds, with longer breaks between equations.  He just watched them and chuckled and told him brother (who was nearby) to look, too.  Doing 10 equations at that speed is like nothing, and he wanted more.  I think we did about 50 equations while we laughed with joy.  I finally told him he was done.  Oh, he wanted more!  So, I stopped.  Doman says to keep them wanting more, right?

Guess I just wanted to brag on LM.

Well, I have to confess this, I couldn't resist the temptation to do problem solving and did one today...(I just wanted to make sure it works before we move on...silly me! ) We are into day 15 of the curriculum, quantity 14. I am glad to say my LO got it 100% right!!

Thanks to KL & Team for devising such a great product and a great curriculum!

I would like to thank Brillkids for making LM and LR upgrades.

My son is doing well with it. I already see a difference when teaching my son the math. Everything is already preset to teach a set of numbers each day and the pictures are flashed much faster. This is great because my son actually sits through his math lesson. My son had no interest before. He would look away when ever I would show him flash cards. With the original LM, he would squirm off my lap. But now the lesson is so fast, he doesn't have time to be uninterested. He sits through his lessons.

My son always enjoyed LR but I think he likes the prepared lessons also. They are quick, some action pictures, variety of picture examples with each word. I also like the different voice used to read the words and describe the pictures.

This is definitely worth the money. My son loves it and when it comes to young children, its not always easy to find to teach them and hold their attention. But I must say with this wonderful program and this web site forum, I have learned a lot.

I want to thanks Brillkids and all the caring parent for making this site so GREAT.

I have both LR & LM and would like to assure everyone that the curriculum is excellent. I know when buying everything for a child things get expensive. If you can afford this for your child it is well worth the price. My grandson was born six weeks premature and with Your Baby Can Read and Little Reader he is catching up to his age level. His vocabulary is excellent and he is learning to count to five. His speech is beginning to catch up with where it should be. I think he would have progressed further but my computer was broken for a while. The major improvement that I notice with him is his vocabulary. I attribute this largely to Little Reader curriculum, although Your Baby Can Read is also responsible. My grandson is a child who is very active, so teaching him anything is extremely difficult.

I know in trying to create lessons for him, it is very time consuming. Creating these lessons to the quality that LR & LM have been created is costly. They have put a lot time into making the lessons not only educational but also entertaining so our cute little ones will pay attention. They also have incorporated several different teaching methods into both of these programs making them versatile for which ever method you decide to follow. I think different children learn different ways and they have tried to make this versatile for everyone. The latest versions are incredible in my opinion.

I have a very clingy baby. It would be impossible to put her down to seat and show her the math dots. I was ready to give up teaching her until Little Math came! Now she can learn while clinging to me. It made ALL the difference!

My daughter was looking at it like an animation movie, and asking for more and more after every Preset. When I stopped my presentation to look in settings, she started to cry. LM is much, much better than showing just the red dots. Mothers often stop red dots because it is boring and they can not entertain enough. LM has various types of icons, and my child likes it. After watching numbers with bananas she asked to go to kitchen to eat banana. Presentation goes faster than I can make it with my manual dot flashcards, and we have good time together.

Why I love Little Math? Mostly for the same reasons I love Little Reader. It is an unbeatable tool for teaching babies and kids math - not only to perceive and identify quantities, but also learn to use numbers in pre-made equations. The pre-made equations save me so much time that I can now use for spending more quality time with my daughter. The support and shared experiences of all the BrillKids forum members are also priceless. Thank you BrillBaby/BrillKids team so much. I highly recommend Little Math and its community to every parent that cares about his/her children.

Fantastic product. My husband used it for the first time with our daughter and was full of praise for the product - he couldn’t believe that the icons were different each time he played it - and also so excited by her reactions to watching the numbers.

My son hated the dots, he did not want to look at my cards or playing math games. Now he loves math, the transport icons are his favourite. I gets frustrated after each lesson becz he still wants to see more. However I have to stop before he wants to stop.

Very pleased. Had attempted some dot cards in past, dd didn't care for them. I was worried that I started too late because she is over two, but after using Little Math, she says "Do math! Do math!"

To be frank, LM is godsend. It is such a wonderful program. I am getting the feel of Little Math and it is easy to use. In fact, I started using it without reading the manual. I prefer to fiddle with the features to get the hang of it. Most of all, my daughter is beginning to show more enthusiasm in math.

I have been trying to teach my daughter maths with PowerPoint flashcards. It takes up a lot of my time preparing them. I also have a phobia: is the number of dots correct? Have I accidentally deleted any dot? With Little Math, things become much much easier. I do not have to think of equations. All I have to do is adjust the Presets. Of course, whenever possible I try to customize. I can also change the icons. I also love the sound sets. It is very convenient. Thank you very much for such a wonderful and powerful program.

I believe LM is going to make the difference for my daughter between a life of mathematical regrets (mine), and a life of mathematical adventure!

My daughter and I enjoy using this program. Our lessons have become exciting for her, because she found red dots boring. With Little Math mathematics is fun for us as it supposed to be :)

It's a great software which is easy to use. This cuts down the material preparation time. My son loves it, especially those personalized icons of his photo. He always asked me to play for him daily. He wants "more more" at end of each session.

My experience has been great with Little Math. He gets excited anytime I say "It's Math time" and he begins clapping his hands.

Little Math is so much more than I expected. I wasn't sure if I would like it as I had been making math sets in Little Reader and thought that was good. Now that I have tried it I will definitely be purchasing it when the beta testing is over. It is so easy to use and has saved me so much time in preparations. Now I can do the most important thing which is teach my son.

My son wants me to play it over and over. It’s only been a few times but he loves watching. It really holds his attention.

My 2 and half year old was not at all interested in seeing dots. I have been trying to teach him since he was 19 months old. He didn't learn a thing. All he is interested in is trucks. So, Little Math was my dreams in action. I was able to create different icons of trucks and he is very excited about it and has been learning his math very quickly.

I love Little Math. It makes teaching math so much easier and so much fun. It's much easier to hold little one's attention and the random placement and icon removes the doubt that babies merely remembered the pattern. Thank you for another great product!

My little one has a renewed interest in math after seeing dot slides for a few weeks and was losing interest in them. As I can use different icons, I manage to get her to look at the screen for longer time. When I use her favourite things as icons such as bear and butterfly, she will get excited and say "bear" or sign "butterfly". There are times she will even say "more" after I show her 3 equations that I normally do ... something that never happened when I used PowerPoint dot slides.
